Effects of the Prostaglandins on Hormone-induced Mobilization of Free Fatty Acids.

چکیده
About 30 years ago, Goldblatt (1, 2) and von Euler (3, 4) showed that human and ovine seminal plasma contain an acidic lipid (prostaglandin) with vasodepressor activity and smooth muscle-stimulating activity. The early studies have been summarized by von Euler (5, 6). In 1960 Berg-strom and Sjdvall isolated from sheep vesicular glands a highly potent crystalline material, prosta-glandin E1 (PGE1) (7).1 The structure of this compound (Figure 1) was established as 2

The Effects of Simvastatin on Free Fatty Acids Profile in Fructose-fed Insulin Resistant Rats
Backgrounds: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease and free fatty acids, as signaling molecules, can play a crucial role in the development of it. Different free fatty acids, through various cell membrane receptors, induce different effects on metabolic pathways and thereby affect insulin sensitivity. Simvastatin is a cholesterol decreasing drug prescrib...
متن کاملDifferential mobilization of fatty acids from adipose tissue.
Are the different fatty acids mobilized into plasma in proportion to their concentrations in adipose tissue triglyceride? To answer this question, we fed weaning rabbits a special diet to label the fat stores with a variety of dietary fatty acids. The release of adipose tissue fatty acids into the plasma was then induced by ACTH-stimulated lipolysis. The compositions of the resulting plasma fre...
متن کاملEffects of Ramadan fasting on plasma free fatty acids in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Introduction: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a global disease which its prevalence is about 10-35%. Several factors are involved in the pathogenesis of the disease. The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of fasting during Ramadan on plasma free fatty acids in patients with NAFLD.Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed during the month of Ramadan in June-Ju...
متن کاملO-11: Diverse Effects of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids on Oocyte Maturation and Development In vitro
Background: Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) have been shown to influence fertility and endocrinology of reproduction and metabolic activity in many species. In dairy cows, we and others have shown changes in steroid and metabolic hormones and prostaglandins leading to alteration of ovarian activity and uterine function. These can influence fertility by changes in folliculogenesis cyclicity ...
متن کاملEffect of Short and Long-Term Treatment with Omega-3 Fatty Acids on Scopolamine-Induced Amnesia
Two omega-3 fatty acids including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are essential for the physiologic function of neuronal cell membrane. Normal function of neuronal cell membrane requires appropriate composition of fatty in its structure. Present study was designed to compare the effect of short-term and long-term pretreatment with omega-3 fatty acids on scopolamine...
